Abstract
Scientific applications impose a number of specific requirements on CCD imagers, the most important being wide spectral range (from UV to near IR), high quantum efficiency (QE), excellent performance at extra low temperatures, low optical response non-uniformity. To a large extent, a new family of “2.5-phase” CCD imagers described below satisfies these requirements.
