Abstract :
The relation among the factors that affect the electron emission by a reversal of polarization in a ferroelectric disk, i.e. the thickness and the carrier density of the metal layer (emission grid), the polarization of the ferroelectric material, and the length of period of the external pulse (electrical, mechanical, thermal, or optical), has been established with a simple theoretical model. The parameters mentioned above could be properly determined by this model to optimize the emission efficiency. The model can only be applied to ferroelectrically induced field emission from the metal layer deposited on the emission side of the ferroelectric disk.
