Transverse feedback system with a digital filter

A theory of resistive wall instability damping using a feedback system with a digital filter and delay is developed. A system of equations is obtained for the description of beam motion including the wake fields for a beam. To solve the equations the Z-transform method is used. Analytical solutions for the damping time and for the eigenfrequencies are obtained, and the system stability is analysed.
