Abstract :
We have developed a two-dimensional MicroStrip Gas Chamber (MSGC) with a 5cm × 5cm detection area based on Multi-Chip Module (MCM) technology. We report on the capability of the MSGC as an imaging detector operated in an intense X-ray beam, and as an X-ray polarization detector. The anisotropy between the number of hit anodes and back strips was measured, and more than 10% difference was obtained for polarized X-rays at 8–16 keV.
