Abstract
A GaAs detector made of semi-insulating, undoped (SIU) material was used to measure the profile of the 24 GeV proton scanning beam which was used for irradiation tests at the CERN PS, the measurement was performed at the end of the test period after a fluence Φ ≈ 1.5 × 1015 cm−2. The result is compared with a profile obtained with colour centre densitometry in glass.
