Abstract :
New event-by-event timing method compensating time walks according to the pulse shape has been developed. This method can be established by combining three simple leading edge discriminators. This method is easy to use and gives a good timing performance in a wide dynamic range. The operational principle, analysis procedure, and measured performance are presented. We applied our pulse-shape compensation method to the measurement of 133Ba 81 keV level lifetime. The obtained lifetime 6.3±4 (ns) is consistent with the reported value.
