Abstract :
The optics design is presented for an RF separated kaon beam. The usual separation in the vertical plane is discussed, as well as the simultaneous separation in both the vertical and horizontal planes. Designs with high angular and momentum acceptance are possible, due to a special first-order optics which results in a rigorous control of the second-order chromatic aberrations. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the various aspects of the separation techniques, and to show how they play a role in realistic optics designs.
