Abstract :
The CLEO Collaboration used its 9.1 fb−1 data sample to explore new B meson hadronic decay paths. We report the first observation and branching fractions of exclusive decays of the type B→D∗NN̄X, where N is a nucleon. We also have improved measurements of the B0→Ds+D∗− and B0→Ds∗+D∗− branching fractions, and first evidence for the decay B+→Ds(∗)+D̄∗∗0, where D̄∗∗0 represents the sum of the possible D̄∗∗ states. We report the first measurement of the Ds∗+ polarization in the decay B0→Ds∗+D∗−. We report the branching ratios for B→D∗π+π−π−π0 decays and find that the final states have a sizeable D∗ω0π− component. We also observe B→Dω0π− decays. The ω0π− appears to come from the decay of a wide 1− resonance with a mass of 1418±26±19 MeV and width of 388±44±32 MeV. We identify this object as the ρ′ or ρ(1450). We also tested factorization in hadronic B decays using the longitudinal polarization of D∗s in B→D∗Ds and D∗ρ′.
