Abstract :
A new permanent magnet undulator will soon be installed in long straight section two (LSS2) of the Aladdin storage ring. We report on design characteristics of the undulator and beamlines that will utilize the first through ninth harmonics to cover the energy range from 7.8 to 500 eV. The instrumentation design is to provide high flux with moderate resolution throughout this range through the installation of two monochromators, as well as support a EUV experimental lithography exposure station. The first monochromator will be a Wadsworth design covering the energy range from 7.8 to 50 eV with <10 meV resolution. The second will be a grazing incidence monochromator covering the energy range from 50 to 500 eV with <80 meV resolution up to 400 eV. Both of these monochromators will deliver high flux into a small spot size at the sample position. Diverting mirrors will allow users to select the proper beam path for each monochromator or EUV exposure station thus matching the wavelength region to the intended experiment.
