Abstract :
The byte-wide optical link in the CDF Run II silicon tracking system had performed a decade long operation for data transmission of 12 fb−1 integrated luminosity. The optical interface modules included on-detector laser transmitters, which were connected by 22-meter fiber ribbon cables to receiver modules out of the detector. We report on the module characteristics, accelerated aging and radiation damage tests, and the longevity in service.
