Role and perspectives of scintimammography

Diagnosis, particularly early diagnosis, assessment of node status, follow up of surgical treatment and chemotherapy, are the classic diagnostic requirements in treating breast cancer. In this paper, distant metastases will not be considered, though nuclear medicine is increasingly involved in detecting and treating them.
