Abstract :
The X-ray diffraction method with synchrotron radiation was used to study human hair in longitudinal and transverse orientation relative to the X-ray beam. We believe that the ring reflection at a spacing of 4.5 nm arises due to proteoglycanes of the extracellular matrix and reflecting the periodicity of the polysaccharide chain attached to the protein core. The structural dynamics of intermediate filaments and units of the extracellular matrix of hair tissues was studied under hair stretch. The 4.5 nm reflection was considered as a marker of the structural transformation of the extracellular matrix under exogenous influence.
