Abstract
Pixel detectors are effective tools of modern high-energy physics. Being made of large arrays of active cells of the same kind, they can be considered as two-dimensional statistical sets whose properties can be partly described by some general results of the Percolation Theory (PT). PT is a solid-state theory widely used in the discussion of organized systems and their transition phases. By properly adapting its concepts and results, some interesting conclusions can be drawn about AC-coupled pixel detectors biased via a built-in, interdiode resistive network.
