Abstract :
We have investigated scintillators for neutron imaging detectors used in neutron scattering instruments. Three kinds of scintillators such as novel lithium–boron–phosphorus glass scintillators, Li2B4O7 glass scintillators, and a 6Li-loaded plastic scintillator are fabricated and evaluated, especially for the n/γ discrimination characteristics. Consequently, it is confirmed that the 6Li-enriched lithium–boron–phosphorus glass scintillator and the 6Li-loaded plastic scintillators have abilities for n/γ discrimination.
