Abstract :
The report consider some issues concerning the history of discovering Cherenkov radiation during “darkness” period (1931–1938) and P.A. Cherenkovʹs work during “light” period (1940–1990). Construction and start-up of first charged particles accelerators. His work in international collaboration.
