This editorial discusses development of the detergent system of feed analysis, suggests detergent system terminology for articles to be published in Animal Feed Science and Technology, provides guidelines for submission of manuscripts that describe new and revised analytical methods, including near infrared reflectance spectroscopy, and descriptive information on feed analysis and/or variability.
