Abstract
A trial was performed to compare the effects of fermented soybean meal (FSBM) fermented with Aspergillus oryzae 3.042 and soybean meal (SBM) on growth performance and plasma biochemical parameters in broilers. Three hundred and twenty one-day-old Ross × Ross broiler chicks were randomly allocated into 2 dietary treatments, 4 replicate groups of 40 chicks each for a 6-week feeding trial, including 0–3-week and 4–6-week period. Results showed that chicks fed a diet with FSBM had a greater average daily gain (P<0.05), average daily feed intake (P<0.05) than chicks with SBM in both periods; had a greater feed conversion (P<0.05) only in growing period. Compared with the SBM group, phosphorus, IgM content in serum of FSBM group were improved in whole stage (P<0.05), IgA level only increased in growing period (P<0.05), and urea nitrogen content of serum was reduced (P<0.01) dramatically both in growing and in finishing periods.
