Abstract :
Accurate estimate of the pressure–volume–temperature (PVT) properties of black oils is of primary importance for developing oil fields. Experimental determination of these properties is expensive and time-consuming; however, empirical models are reliable tools to predict these properties. The purpose of the current study was to develop new, accurate, easy-to-use correlations to estimate bubblepoint (saturation) pressure of black oil. Two new correlations were obtained based on 207 PVT samples through commonly available field data and compositional data. New correlations were evaluated against 1840 commonly available field data points and 171 compositional data points from the global literature. Their average absolute percent relative errors (AARE%) were 15.5 and 7.7, respectively, in comparison with the data in the published literature. Statistical analysis indicated the superiority of methods over other available models.
