Abstract :
A linked polymer solution (LPS) is investigated in this paper. For studying the size and the conformation of linked polymer coils (LPC) in LPS, techniques of dynamic light scattering (DLS) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) have been used. A new method to study the plug property of LPC by filtrating diluted LPS pass through a microporous filter membrane under low pressure has been developed as well.
sult shows that the shape of the linked polymer coils in water is spherical. When the concentration of the polymers in LPS is 200 mg kg−1, the mean hydrodynamic radius of the LPC measured by DLS is 199, 234 and 278 nm for the polymers B, C and D, respectively. It shows that the higher the molecular weight of the polymer, the larger the size of the LPC is. It was found that the mean hydrodynamic radium of the LPC is 238, 246, 379 and 610 nm for LPS with polymer B at concentration of 100, 200, 300 and 600 mg kg−1, respectively.
