Abstract
Water filter materials were prepared from the mixtures of zeolite, bentonite, kaolinite, and charcoal powder, fired to temperatures from 1000 to 1100 °C. The effects of charcoal powder and firing temperature on porosity of filter materials were studied. The results show that the filter materials prepared at 1000 °C, from the mixtures of 85.00 mass% zeolite, 8.00 mass% bentonite, 6.00–6.50 mass% kaolinite, and 0.50–1.00 mass% charcoal powder, have a uniform pore size of 0.3 μm. The main components of the filter materials are heulandites, mordenite, cristobalite, montmorillonite, mullite, and hematite.
