Abstract :
In this research, we reported a novel modified carbon ceramic electrode using CuI as modifier was fabricated by sol-gel technique. The electrocatalytic activity of the copper iodide modified sol-gel derived carbon ceramic (CIM-SGD-CC) electrode was examined for the oxidation of ascorbic acid (AA). Results showed that the CIM-SGD-CC electrode has high catalytic ability for electrooxidation of ascorbic acid. The response current exhibited good linear relationship for the concentration of ascorbic acid in the range from 5×10-4 to 5×10-3 mol L-1, with the correlation coefficient of 0.9902 and the detection limit of 1.66 ?mol L–1. The kinetic parameter such as the electron transfer coefficient (?) and exchange current density (j0) for the modified electrode were calculated. The advantages of the modified CCE are its good stability and reproducibility of surface renewal by simple polishing, excellent catalytic activity and simplicity of preparation
