Triassic metamorphism in the northern part of the Tahamي Terrane of the central cordillera of Colombia

U–Pb SHRIMP dating of zircons from two orthogneisses and one metasedimentary migmatite from the Tahamí Terrane (core of the Central Cordillera, Colombian Andes) indicate that regional metamorphism took place in Late Triassic times. Additionally, a Permian age of magmatism is defined for the protoliths of the orthogneisses, while a sedimentary protolith indicates a maximum Carboniferous age of deposition. The detrital ages of the Tahamí Terrane indicate a Gondwanic affinity.
