Doppler radar: an efficient tool for the three-dimensional description of organized cloudy boundary layers

This letter illustrates, through a representative example, the great potential of a Doppler radar for investigating the clear air organized boundary layer and the associated fair weather cumulus layer. A comparison is made with a satellite image. The radar emphasizes the continuity and the connection between the atmospheric boundary layer and the cloud-layer processes.
