Abstract :
A method for measuring the angle of two elements separated at a large distance by using a common optical reference is proposed. A common light plane or several parallel light planes are projected on these elements. The angles between these elements and the projections of light planes are measured and thereafter the angle between these two elements is determined. A practical example of measuring the angle formed by two elements separated at a distance of 7 m is shown. Its calibration method is also discussed.
