The preparation of quinoxaline and 2,3-dihydropyrazine derivatives us-ing selectfluor as an efficient and reusable catalyst

Selectfluor [1-(chloromethyl)-4-flouro-1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2,2,2]octane bis(tetraflouroborate)] has catalyzed the preparation of quinoxaline and 2,3-dihydopyrazine derivatives through one-pot condensation of 1,2-diamines with 1,2-dicarbonyls in solvent and under solvent-free conditions. Short reaction times, high yields of products and the use of a commercially available, stable and reusable catalyst are noteworthy advantages of these methods.
