Calculation of the ferrite volume in some dual phase steels

The relation between the γγ + α boundary temperature, Tα, and the equivalent values of [Cr] and [Ni], as well as the variation of the ferrite volume, Vf, with the temperature in α + γ dual-phase steels have been studied. With the aid of a computer, the regressive expressions derived from the experimental results are: Tα (°C) = T3 + 21.2 [Cr] − 15.8 [Ni] + 223; Vf (%) = 0.715 exp [0.015(T − Tδ)] − exp[0.015(Tc − Tδ)] + 1.85 exp [0.0083(Tα − Tc]).
