Abstract
In accordance with the microthermodynamics, the relationship among critical resolved shear stress (CRSS), stacking fault energy (SFE) and strength was discussed. The comprehensive function of the alloying elements decides the martensite transformations of γ→α, γ→α+ɛ or γ→ɛ, which results in relevant changes of martensite transformation critical points Ms and Mɛs. Based on the experimental results and theoretical analysis, the quantitative expressions of Ms and Mɛs were established with the aids of the computer. These expressions can be applied to engineering and the design of martensite transformation temperatures for cryogenic austenitic steels.
