Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is examination of potential use of ultra-high frequency (UHF) energy installations for frozen soil defrosting. per analyzes the thermodynamic response of the frozen soil to the action of an electromagnetic field (EMF). The analysis presented illustrates the effect of UHF energy on the strength of frozen soil. It is concluded that the UHF device reduces the defrosting time requirement. ters are chosen and substantiated for the UHF installation. Dependences of frozen soil/radiation interaction are determined, subject to the actual physical–mechanical properties of undisturbed frozen soils, and a technology is presented for ground and construction working with UHF energy as a means of intensification of the excavation process.
