Abstract :
The soil parameters and mechanical properties of warm frozen soils often exhibit strongly stochastic properties. In order to study the stochastic characteristics, fifty triaxial compressive tests of warm ice-rich frozen silt have been conducted at the temperature of − 1.5 °C under three different confining pressures, respectively. The strength distribution of warm ice-rich frozen silt is given. A damage statistical constitutive relationship and a stochastic model are proposed based on the probability distributions of parameters and random process theory. Then the stochastic simulation is conducted using Monte-Carlo technique. The calculated results of these two models are well coincident with experimental results.
