Abstract :
The reduction of graphite from the lead concentrate of Rajpura-Dariba is quite problematic due to the complex nature of the ore. A lead concentrate containing less than 3% graphite is necessary for lead metallurgy, but the flotation process is unable to reduce the graphite content to the required level due to itʹs natural fotability. This paper presents the results of plant trials of the Multi Gravity Separator for the reduction of graphite from the lead concentrate. Results show that combination of the flotation process and MGS reduces the graphite content to the required level.
