Abstract :
The preconcentration aspect was an essential part of the research and development project dealing with the kimberlitic indicator minerals. The original aim of the project was to develop methods applicable to concentrate and extract kimberlitic indicator minerals from Quaternary surficial deposits. The study resulted in an effective and high recovery line to process slightly heavy minerals from till samples. This paper summarizes the preconcentration achievements for the GTK modified 3″ Knelson Concentrator. In addition, the whole set up is a mobile plant which substantially reduces the need of transporting voluminous samples.
