Taphonomy of two non-marine Lower Cretaceous bone accumulations from southeastern England

Two vertebrate accumulations in the non-marine Wealden Group (Lower Cretaceous) of southeastern England show contrasting preservational styles. Bones from a high-energy fluvial lag deposit have well-developed abrasion characteristics, while vertebrate materials sampled from low-energy overbank sediments are less abraded, but show some evidence of subaerial weathering.
