Upper Cenozoic bio-magnetic stratigraphy of Central Asian mammalian localities

This research is focused on biostratigraphic and palaeomagnetic correlations of Upper Cenozoic mammalian localities of Central Asia in the territory of Tadjikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and southern Kazakhstan. The absence of the lithological markers and absolute dates emphasizes the true importance of using bio-magnetic evidence for stratigraphy of terrestrial molasse. Late Turolian, Villafranchian and middle Pleistocene faunal assemblages are recorded in Central Asian localities providing a good basis for a broad interregional stratigraphic correlation.
