Abstract :
The Iranian part of the Kopet Dagh Basin is located in the north-east of Iran where sedimentation continued throughout Jurassic–Cenozoic times. The ammonite content of the Sarcheshmeh and Sanganeh formations (Lower Cretaceous) has been studied. The following forms are recorded for the first time from the basin: Deshayesites cf. consobrinoides, D. dechyi, D. deshayesi, D. cf. euglyphus, D. cf. involutus, D. luppovi, D. cf. multicostatus, D. oglanlensis, D. cf. planus, D. cf. tuarkyricus, D. weissi, D. cf. weissiformis, D. sp. nov., D. spp., Dufrenoyia sp., Turkmeniceras multicostatum and T. cf. tumidum.
