Wetting

The past year has seen many important publications on wetting phenomena. The work involves theoretical developments that may lead to the resolution of key problems that have existed for many years in the fundamental description of wetting. The developments include the explanation of discrepancy between the theory and simulation results, the increased understanding of the behaviour of the line tension at the wetting transition, and the recent advancements in the understanding of wetting phenomena in complex systems such as microemulsions, colloidal systems, polymer systems and metals.
