Abstract
Accounting for the combined effects of electromagnetic and gravitational forces, a linear dispersion relation for low-frequency electromagnetic modes in a nonuniform dusty magnetoplasma has been derived. It is found that consideration of the dust particle dynamics provides the possibility of a linear coupling between the Jeans mode, drift convective cells, the magnetic drift mode, as well as inertial Alfvén waves. In limiting cases, some new plasma wave spectra and instabilities have been obtained. The relevance of the investigation to plasma wave phenomena in astrophysical, lower ionosphere, and low-temperature laboratory plasmas is discussed.
