Study of dispersive Alfven wave in auroral acceleration region in an inhomogeneous plasma

The kinetic approach is used to evaluate the dispersion relation and growth/damping rate of dispersive Alfven wave (DAW) with density, temperature and velocity gradients in auroral acceleration region. It is found that density, temperature and velocity gradients enhance the growth rate significantly, whereas the wave frequency is not affected. Thus, gradients of auroral acceleration region may to taken into account while discussing auroral acceleration process by DAW.
