Abstract :
A plane strain problem for an interface crack along the fixed edge of a piezoelectric semi-infinite strip under concentrated electromechanical loading is examined. The model of an interface crack with an artificial contact zone near its tips is used. By using Fourier transforms, boundary integral relations are derived. By means of these relations, the system of singular integral equations for several electric boundary conditions are formulated and solved numerically. The stress intensity factors at the crack tip and the energy release rate are calculated. Influence of the permeability of the crack on electric and mechanical fields near the crack tip is considered.
