The two-dimensional theory of reflectometry diagnostics of plasma fluctuations

A two-dimensional analysis of the reflectometry signal related to the scattering from plasma fluctuations is performed in the framework of the perturbation theory. Dependencies of the scattering cross-section on poloidal and radial fluctuation wavenumbers are studied. The explicit expressions for the scattered signal are obtained for scattering from an island drifting in the poloidal direction.
