Abstract
Computer trajectory calculations indicate that sample volumes in the CHS heavy ion beam probe experiment are very large. In the worst case, the longest dimension is of order 10 cm. The sample volumes in a similar experiment on ATF had substantially smaller volumes. Possible causes and expected effects of the large CHS sample volumes are discussed.
