Abstract
The status of the ITER technology R&D in the Japanese Home Team is reported in this study. The Japanese Home Team contributes to the validation of the ITER engineering design in most of the technology area. It is responsible for the implementation of various R&D, and in particular plays a significant role in the seven large technology R&D projects. These include a highly international collaborative program of superconducting magnet technology, in-vessel component technology and remote maintenance technology. In addition, peripheral advanced technology R&D is underway such as tritium fuel cycle, heating and current drive systems and diagnostic systems.
