Abstract :
The integrated ICE (Ingress-of-Coolant Events) tests are performed to investigate ITER safety design parameters and provide experimental data to validate safety analysis codes, such as INTRA (IN-vessel Transient Analysis). The ICE tests are focused on the Category IV multiple first wall pipe break events. Major test items of ICE are pressure rise characteristics, two-phase flow characteristics and pressure drop through the divertor, condensation effects in the suppression tank and functional performance of the pressure suppression system. In this paper, INTRAʹs pre- and post-experiment calculation results together with the experimental data is presented. The report also describes the model developed by INTRA and the break flow model of RELAP5. INTRA has modelled and calculated five different cases of ICE tests, however only two of them are presented in this report.
