Construction of the HL-2A tokamak

HL-2A is the first tokamak with divertor under construction in China. The installation of the machine started in October 2000 and the main structure and vacuum vessel preassembly had been accomplished last year, the magnetic field coils have been assembled and tested, performance test of vacuum system with baking have been carried out. Significant progress of the construction of HL-2A have been achieved up to now and the installation of all subsystems will be finished soon, and then comes engineering test. This paper introduce the subsystems of the HL-2A, the progress of installation is described, some measurements and testing results are presented.
