Development and application of MCNP auto-modeling tool: Mcam 3.0

Mcam is abbreviation of “MCNP Automatic Modeling”, which is a CAD interface program of MCNP geometry model based on CAD technology. Making use of existing CAD technology is Mcamʹs major characteristic. In rough, CAD technology is utilized in the following two ways: (1) Mcam makes it possible to create MCNP geometry model in some CAD software; (2) accelerate creation of MCNP geometry model by inheriting some existing 3D CAD model. The paper gives an introduction of Mcamʹs major ability: (1) ability to convert CAD model into MCNP geometry model; (2) ability to convert MCNP geometry model into CAD model; (3) ability to construct CAD model. At the end of the paper, several models are given to demonstrate Mcamʹs different ability respectively.
