The Maximal Ideal Space of C(K;A)

Let C(K;A) denote the space of all continuous A- valued functions on the compact Hausdor® space K, where A is a commutative Banach algebra. In this paper we show that the maximal ideal space of C(K;A) can be identi¯ed with K £M, where M denotes the maximal ideal space of A.
