Abstract :
Herein, we present the case of a 45-year-old woman with midesophageal diverticula, who had complaints of dysphagia and regurgitation. Diagnosis was confirmed by endoscopy and barium swallow. The patient underwent right posterolateral thoracotomy with excision of diverticula and repair of the muscular layer along the site of diverticula. Five days following the operation, barium swallow with the passage of the contrast material through distal esophagus showed no diverticula. After five months, the patient remained asymptomatic.
