Strategi Mencari Nafkah pada Masyarakat Melayu di Desa Putri Puyu sebagai Akibat Perubahan Mata Pencaharian Hidup

ABSTRACT: “The Strategies of Malay Household Expenses at the Putri Puyu Village as the Consequences of Livelihood Changes”. Livelihood as one of the economy infrastructure brings effects on the daily activities. However, the economic policy and restrictiveness of natural resource reflects the condition and situation in household that have to be able to plan an alternative solution for life. This study was looking for the strategies of household expenses used in Malay community at the Putri Puyu village to be survived in live as the consequence of livelihood changes. The approach of research was qualitative with descriptive type. The instruments of research were participant observation, deep interview, and document. The findings of research show that the Malay community at the Putri Puyu village used some strategies to be survived in live, such as: (1) digging the hole to close the hole, which they borrow some money to pay debt, or budgeting of rubber plantation fee that become income resources; (2) migrant strategy as the final step to fulfill the household needs; (3) multiple livelihood strategies which they do more than one job; (4) company labor strategy; and (5) keeping the relationship with the owner of rubber plantation to be constant in sharing and caring. The whole strategies are the efforts to fulfill the household economy, as the consequences of livelihood changes.
