Abstract :
Religious dedication play significant role in shaping employee behavior towards job and responsibilities. Existing studies have highlighted the importance of religious beliefs in determining employee performance and attitude. Literature further suggests that religiosity results in the honesty, supportive behavior, good faith and happiness of the employees which leads to the job commitment. The same area was highlighted in current study by investigating the impact of religiosity and work place attitude on job commitment. Structured questionnaire was used as a tool for collection of data from banks employees. Empirical results provided significant impact of religiosity and work place attitude on job commitment, suggesting that religious affiliation and work place attitude leads to enhanced commitment of employee towards job. Study also found moderating impact of workplace attitude on the relationship between religiosity and job commitment. The organization can use the findings of current study to develop organization environment that is religion supportive, friendly, communicative, trust worthy, challenging and justice base. Furthermore organizations can design jobs that are challenging or self-selective goal oriented.
