Abstract :
One-pot, efficient three-component condensation of aromatic aldehydes, 2-naphthol and 2-aminobenzothiazole in the presence of oxalic acid as an organocatalyst and effective catalyst for the synthesis of 1-(benzothiazolylamino) methyl-2-naphthol derivatives under thermal and solvent-free conditions is described. The present approach of this methodology offers several advantages such as high yields, clean reaction profiles, operational simplicity, being environmentally benign, lack of need for column chromatography and simple work-up procedure.
