Abstract :
Purpose: To report for the first time, a presumable case of pediculus capitis corneal pseudo-infestation Case report: Our patient was a 35-year-old farmer presenting with symptoms and signs of ocular discomfort and inflammation. Clinical examination suggested a retained corneal foreign body; pathology of the lesion suggested a female pediculus humanus capitis (head louse). Conclusion: Arthropod (pseudo-) infestation can be considered in the differential diagnosis of corneal foreign bodies.
